Why your child should use dab a dot printables
Do a dot coloring pages are remarkably versatile, screen-free, and developmentally appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers. Do a dot worksheets can help your child develop important skills such as hand-eye coordination, grip strength, finger strength, manual dexterity, and fine motor skills. Children are increasingly are starting school with inadequate fine motor skills and poor manual dexterity. Researchers believe this is because of more screen time and less time for other non-screen activities (such as playing with classic toys like blocks). This study found that preschooler’s manual dexterity was inversely related to their screen time. This means that the more screen time the preschooler received, the worse their manual dexterity was. These Christmas do a dot marker printables are an easy way to keep your toddler or preschooler’s development on track - and they’ll have fun, too!
How to use printable do a dot marker coloring pages
I created these printables with Classic Do a Dot Markers in mind. The circles are perfectly sized for this line of markers, but they also work fine with other dauber style markers. Dot markers are fairly low mess, but kids can make anything messy. For a guaranteed no-mess activity, use these dab a dot printables with colorful round label stickers. This makes a great quiet time activity for car rides, plane trips, and doctor’s offices. Make sure to get ⅝" or ¾" round stickers - 1" round stickers are too big for the circles on the printables. My daughter is using stickers with her Easter dot marker pages in the photo below: These are the exact stickers we use. You get thousands with a storage bag for just a few dollars: If you want to challenge your child’s fine motor skills, use these dot marker printables with small manipulatives like pompoms or big buttons. Your child can place the manipulatives with their hands or use bamboo tongs, plastic tweezers, or small silicone tipped tongs to transfer the pompoms from a bowl onto the coloring page. Once pompoms become easy, you can move on to more challenging objects like dried chickpeas. Laminate your printables to make them reusable with stickers and manipulatives.
