I recommend this 32# HP bright white paper because it’s more durable than regular printer paper. Cardstock paper can also be used, but is more difficult for younger kids to cut. How to make your chick craft template
First, grab your free chick template craft by using the download link lower in the post. Print as many copies of the craft as you’d like. The entire chick craft is on the first page. The second page is an optional full color background. Have your child or students use blunt-tipped scissors to cut out the chick pieces. Use the reference image as a guide to glue the pieces together. Gluing them to a background can make the activity easier for kids. The belly, wings, feet, beak, and eyes are all glued in place to make the chick. Wings and feet can be glued to the front or back. Other pieces need to be glued to the front. Completed chicks can be attached to a large craft stick to use as a stick puppet, placed on toilet paper rolls to make them stand up, displayed on your classroom bulletin board, or even turned into sun catchers in a window.
