This Jack o’lantern cut and paste activity is a fun craft for preschool students, pre-k students, and kindergarten kids. Older children may not enjoy the activity as much, but that will depend on your particular child or students. This easy pumpkin craft printable is available in both color and black and white. It’s an no-prep craft for your fall lesson plans, to decorate your bulletin board with, or as a craft at library activities.
Art supplies needed to use your free build a Jack o lantern craft
You don’t need much to make your cute Halloween craft! Here are the supplies you’ll need:
Halloween dot marker coloring pages Pumpkin patch dot marker pages Pumpkin count & clip cards
Your free printable jack o’lantern template (look for the download link further down the post. There’s a row of purple arrows pointing the way.) Printer access and paper or white card stock Child safe scissors Glue stick Crayons or colored pencils, for the coloring page version
How to make your free printable Jack o lantern craft
First, grab your PDF file from lower down in the post. Print one copy of the your desired craft page for each of your little learners. All color pieces are on one page and all black and white pieces are on another. Have your child trace and write “Jack o’lantern” at the top of their worksheet before cutting. Color the pumpkin pieces before cutting out the pieces (if you’re using the coloring page version). Use child safe scissors to cut out each of the template pieces. Glue the Jack o lantern eyes and mouth to the pumpkin. Glue the stem on top of the pumpkin. That’s it! You can also add a craft stick to make a puppet. You’re done!
