How to play alphabet bingo
Alphabet bingo is an easy, low-prep way to help your child learn their letters while having fun! Preschoolers, kindergarteners, and even older children will enjoy playing this game. Many educators focus on teaching lowercase letters first, so this set of bingo boards uses only lowercase letters. In the future, I will make uppercase alphabet bingo and a mixed case version, too. Check back again soon for these other versions!
Because this alphabet bingo game is geared towards letter recognition, not just “winning,” you may want to play blackout bingo instead of stopping once one or two people have made five in a row. Make sure to print the two pages of call cards at the back. Do not print an extra card and cut it up - two letters of the alphabet are not shown on each card. You can use these bingo cards in a “traditional” way by cutting out the pictures on the call list sheet, placing them in a bowl, and drawing them randomly. You can save some time cutting out tiles by giving the call sheets to an adult and having them ‘randomly’ call out images. This means fewer pieces to cut out and keep track of. I recommend printing bingo games on bright white 32 lb paper. The paper is sturdier than ’normal’ copy paper and brighter for cleaner, more vibrant pictures. Lowercase alphabet bingo printables
I’ve shared many different picture bingo games over the years. Usually I have a variety of set sizes with larger, classroom sets available for purchase. Due to the smaller number of images in the pool (26 letters of the English alphabet), I decided not to make a large set of 50 for these alphabet bingo cards. Or, of course, you can use ever-popular dauber markers to mark cards for one-time use. After all, they are called bingo markers! There are two different sets of bingo cards: a low-cost classroom set with 20 cards and a free set with 10 cards. The cards are unique and the two sets can be combined for 30 total cards. Please note that, due to the smaller image pool, there will probably be multiple “winners” on the same turn. Like all picture bingo games on the Artisan Life, these are for personal and single classroom use. You are welcome to print and use them as many times as you’d like with your own children, students, therapy clients, library activity, etc. You are not licensed to share the printouts or digital files with others for use with their students, children, or groups.
