I was unable to tolerate gluten for several years (and still limit my gluten intake to a few bites on special occasions), so I prefer to use gluten free sandwich cookies for myself. The recipe also includes suggestions for allergy free white chocolate chips that are soy free, dairy free, gluten free, and nut free. The photos do show “normal” Oreos because sometimes my husband needs to be thanked for putting up with me the rest of the time. 😅 Please follow the written instructions and links if you want to make sure your Valentine’s Day treats are allergy friendly for school.

How to make chocolate dipped Valentine’s Day Oreos
Prepare your workspace by laying out a large piece of wax paper on a baking sheet. Melt your chocolate. Place it in a microwave safe bowl, heat for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue microwaving in 15 second intervals, stirring each time. Chocolate melts as you stir it so this step is important! Using a fork or your fingers, dip each cookie into the melted chocolate. Let the excess coating drip off by gently tapping the fork against the edge of the bowl. (Or don’t and just have extra chocolate on each one!) Place the dipped cookies onto the prepared baking sheet. Add sprinkles, if desired. Mix and match with hearts, glitter, or whatever else you want! These pink glitter sprinkles use natural colors, which is great if you’re concerned about red dyes. Let the chocolate to harden. Allow the cookies to sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes or until the candy coating hardens. You can slide them in the fridge to speed up the process, but this could give your cookies off flavors. Serve or bag and enjoy! Once the coating is firm, your Valentine’s Day cookies are ready to enjoy. You can slide them into cello bags and top them with your free printable treat toppers or plate them up for your family.
